Carolyn has been writing professionally since 1999.  She has published a variety of  fiction and non-fiction including:

  • True Stories of Rescue and Survival: Canada's Unknown Heroes (Dunduran, 2008),

  • To the Rescue! True Stories of Tragedy and Survival (Dundurn Group, 2005), and 

  • Heroic Rescues at Sea: True Stories of the Canadian Coast Guard (Nimbus, 2002).  

She has also written award-winning short fiction, and feature articles in such newspapers as the Globe and Mail and the National Post.  

 

The themes of the author's articles encompass local political events and opinions, feature articles about people and places; interviews and profiles of those aspiring to political office; portraits of grief counsellors and rescue workers.

 

Her short stories show the influence of her early life in New Zealand: rural people and landscape, relationships, and self-discovery.
